Very soon I will be Lucy's Mommy! At this point I need to make travel arrangements with the rescue organization to have her flown up to me from West Virginia.
This is what I know about Lucy. She turned 2 on June 5. She was removed from her previous "home" by Animal Control. She lived outside her whole life (up until a few weeks ago!) and was shaved completely and had to have 2 teeth pulled, so I think she was probably neglected.
She has been in foster care for 3 weeks and is learning how to be an inside dog, but she is a loving and sweet girl who likes to cuddle all night on the bed with people. She is apparently a very happy dog, and I will strive to keep her a happy dog!
I'm excited :).

Yesterday we went to a pet store. They had adoptions going on. I must say that I had to talk Daniel *out* of adopting a kitten on the spot (or at least trying). He went googly-gah-gah over several of them, but I played the "we don't even know where we live at the moment" voice of reason. I then dreamed of kittens last night.
Suffice it to say we love the thrill of a new pet and will share in your joy vicariously since, if my resolve lasts, we have a moratorium on new animals in our house for a while. :)
Congratulations! I hope this precious dog will bring you lots of joy! and vice versa. :)
