My friends say...

"I do not ask whether you are musical, Mrs. Elton. Upon these occasions, a lady's character generally precedes her; and Highbury has long known that you are a superior performer."
"Oh! no, indeed; I must protest against any such idea. A superior performer!--very far from it, I assure you. Consider from how partial a quarter your information came. I am doatingly fond of music--passionately fond;--and my friends say I am not entirely devoid of taste; but as to any thing else, upon my honour my performance is mediocre to the last degree." ~Jane Austen, Emma

Nothing quite like a little bit of false humility, is there? ;)

I posted a little "how well do you know me" survey on MySpace and a couple of my friends responded to it. I found some of their answers quite amusing and thought I would share either what they do or do not know about me. This is what my friends say:

Question: Take a stab at my middle name
Answers: "Shaniquah" and "Elizabeth"
Response: No and no.

Question: When is my birthday?
Answer: "3/30/1805"
Response: Cute. I look pretty good for a 201 year old woman.

Question: Am I funny?
Answers: "To me, heck yeah. To not so sarcastic people, maybe not." and "Yep =)"
Response: Awww! Warm fuzzies! (What? Me? Sarcastic? Never!)

Question: What is the best feature about me?
Answers: "Red Hair" and "gorgeous red hair, super long lashes, true blue eyes"
Response: Someone went a little crazy with the adjectives, at which I roll those "true blue eyes." Are you sure they aren't false blue eyes? I suppose it is only fitting that my glory is my best feature. I am rather fond of it myself...

Question: Am I shy or outgoing?
Answers: "Shy yet Outgoing...a little of both" and "middle of the road"
Response: I couldn't have said it better myself.

Question: Do I have any special talents?
Answer: "singing, writing, getting kicked out of monasteries"
Response: I had to include this one because it made me laugh out loud.

Question: What is my worst habit?
Answer: "you are not a morning person and can be slow to get started. ;)"
Response: Most definitely a statement of fact, but I doubt that it is my worst habit!

'Emma' is great.

Some interesting answers there.

I am not a morning person either. I am always very grumpy and irritable in the morning, even if I do not get up that early.

Don't roll your blue eyes at me, young lady! I only meant that they were a really bright blue color as opposed to the more common soft/grayish/greenish blue. =P I suppose I did go a little adjective crazy but it asked for best feature and I thought I would put the reason why I thought those features stood out. =P Besides, what do you expect from someone who thinks your middle name should be shaniquah? ;)

Good point about the middle name, "Shanene". Nice name. Where do you come up with these things? Hey, you're going to be married in a week!

Matthew, I'm not a morning person, but I usually just take forever to wake up and then get up. Once I'm up my mood is generally okay. Actually one of my college roommates used to tease me because I was so chatty in the morning.
