Pray for rain

After today I kind of hope it rains all evening and all night - and rains hard! The river is in some danger of overflowing its banks, and since the Boys and Girls Club is right on the river it might flood the parking lot and lobby of the building. If that happens the Club can't exactly open, which means that I could have a day off. Most likely it won't happen overnight, but it is possible. It is supposed to continue to rain for the rest of the week, so there might still be flooding later. They talked about moving the summer program to a park in the area for a few days. I really hope that doesn't happen, so perhaps it will just be better to work tomorrow and have no flooding.

Today I had a kid throw a ping-pong ball out of one of the windows upstairs. That kind of ticked me off. I made all of the kids, regardless of what they were doing, sit against one wall. It successfully got the noise down. It was hot, stuffy and extremely boring in there. The smell of the body odor was really starting to get to me. I was hungry and the kids were whining. When the ball went out the window I just had enough. I only made them sit there for a short time while I told them to never ever do that sort of thing again. Why does that stuff only happen while Brad is at lunch? The kids have to know by now that I will be firm and there are some things they just can't get away with. We had some fun playing a game in the gym in the afternoon. We were all running around and getting hot and sweaty. If nothing else I am guaranteed exercise for the summer!
